Thomas Heath Sundial
The shop of Thomas Heath was one of several large shops dealing in horological instruments in 18th century London, England. |
Many of the
instruments sold by Heath were made by "Chamber Masters" - independent
master craftsmen working in their own homes and shops.
This beautiful
sundial was most likely fashioned by an unnamed master, with a talent for
combining function with design.
Our reproduction of this fine sundial is
constructed of solid brass, measures 2-5/8 inches by 3-5/8 inches and is
1-1/2 inches high with the gnomon raised, Directions included in the
box. As with all our instruments. this is made by Ames Instrument in
America. |

The 1/2 Scale Compass
This compass faithfully matches
the full-size Rittenhouse compass. |
This is a working 1/2 scale compass
which faithfully matches our full-size Rittenhouse compass, and has the same working parts. The needle is
lifted by a small screw, the sights remove, and the compass itself can be
unclamped from it's base and rotated or removed. This makes a great gift,
perfect for awards or presentations. A brass plaque is affixed for engraving.
(Engraving is optional)
